Impossible.

She wanted her home back. Ireland. She wanted the people back she'd lost so long ago. Her father, oh God, her father. It had been so many seasons. He must think she'd perished long ago. She'd become determined to get back to him and decided the best way to do it was to talk—to ask of Raynor this one thing. He'd been her friend. Surely he wouldn't refuse her request to go home?

He'd never treated her like a bed slave, which was what her purchase had been made for. She'd known girls younger than herself that had been used as such. But Raynor hadn't touched her.

He grasped her hand, looking at all the scaly patches of skin and calluses.

Mista resisted pulling her hand back. What did it matter if he knew how hard she'd worked?

"Edda has worked you to the bone."

Mista shrugged. The working took her mind off her homesickness. Her favorite job had been looking after Advar—such a precious little boy. She'd miss him. "Not so bad."

His eyes looked as though he'd devour her. Like he would eat her like the finest delicacy of meat he could find. Face heating, she looked away.

He'd said she'd changed.

When she looked back, his eyes hooded, clouding over. Advar had wandered some distance away. Raynor stepped closer to her. "Mista…"

"Tá." Nervously, she reverted back into her Gaelic as she'd done earlier. She looked up, misjudging how closely he stood. Her head banged his chin. "Oh! I'm sorry." She rubbed the stubbled jaw with her fingertips. So rough and scratchy against her fingertips. The contact seared her fingers like no poker in the fire could ever do. She shyly pulled her hand away.

He sucked in a breath, then lowered his mouth to hers. Their lips met in a rush of air followed by a sizzle. He softly explored her. His lips brushed hers, making a swipe across them. The touch tingled, shooting shivers to her already humming sex. The moisture pooled between her thighs.

His hand slipped down along her shoulder to rub against a breast through her usual aproned frock. Her gasp allowed him to penetrate her lips with his tongue, sliding in. He found hers and wound around it, twirling over and over Her whole body shuddered. Pleasure swirled through her. She wanted to give over to the sensations.

Home. If he bedded her, she'd never make it back to her homeland. He'd never let her go.

She pushed him away from him. His breath came in short puffs of air. His whole body stiffened. His cock jutted out from his body.

"What's wrong?"

She took a step back, her hand on her mouth. "Everything. Raynor…Raynor…"

"Já?"

"I need to go home. To my people." Despite that part of her heart set against it. Her body rebelled, wanting the act. It wanted the act of copulation with this big, strong, noble man. "I have to go home, Raynor. Please let me."

Blue Ribbon Rating: 4.5! As a longtime reader of Viking tales I found this story to be highly enjoyable and really loved the passionate nature of the characters. Mista’s torn between her desire to return home and her affection for Advar and Raynor. Raynor’s torn between his duty to family and his desire to make Mista his wife. I couldn’t wait to find out how this one would end.
